Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me here!
First and foremost, I am an actor. I can coax my voice to emulate certain voice types in an authentic sounding way. I prefer voice acting work that is character-driven, utilizing my abilities and range. I really enjoy documentary narration too, but as you can hear here, I am versatile and open to all types of work. I can also sing all styles of music.
I’m originally from the historic “whaling capital of the world,” the city of New Bedford, Massachusetts, so my natural specific American accent carries a unique blend of punchy local city flavors and worldly, knowing expressiveness. I’m often compared to the voices of Scarlett Johansson, Sigourney Weaver, Jennifer Anniston, and Cate Blanchett.
I sometimes get asked to deliver authentic soundalikes of famous elderly actresses, even though I’ve yet to cross that age threshold. I’m best known for my soundalike of Julie Andrews as “Lady Whistledown” in Bridgerton. It must be said, I do not impersonate, I emulate. I do not do these voices as a joke or comedically, but as a voice actor building a character from the ground up. I respect Julie Andrews’ career journey and admire her greatly. I just happen to have that voice that can do that thing. Likewise, is my soundalike of the late Angela Lansbury, and the very much alive, Judi Dench—women whom I admire. I may not have grown up in Vaudeville or the Old Vic Theatre, but I too started on stage in musicals when I was a child (five years old). I earned my first broadcasting award from the Massachusetts Broadcasters Association for program narration when I was seventeen.
In later years, I studied classical voice in NYC with the late Marni Nixon, the most famous female voice actor of all time. Marni overdubbed leading lady singing voices in musical movies The King and I, My Fair Lady, and West Side Story.
All of this is nice to share with you, however, who I am as a person and artist are driven my dedication to acting and singing in this art form. All of the training and experience doesn’t really matter, the proof is in my talent and my work. Everything else just confirms my innate desire to continue collaborating with others to do this challenging and fun creative work.
Thanks for visiting!
My very best,
Mim
